the biggest difference is mac mini is designed as plug-and-play computer… not much you can upgrade & enough specs for normal user to do web browsing, word processing, listening to mp3s… plug and you can used mac mini…

normal mac (imac & mac pro) are more upgradeable, more tweaks can be done, more powerful, better in every way…

if u can only afford mac mini, then go ahead, buy a mac mini..

    that’s my 2 cents

A Mac Mini is just a laptop without a keyboard, monitor, and mouse. Most of them are faster than my power mac G5 dual processor tower (except for hard drive speed).

My Dad composes and records symphonies on his first-generation Mini.

What do you need to do with it?

If you can only currently afford a Mac Mini, go for it. I personally have an iMac and live it, but I got my brother an iMac and it suits his needs. If you are looking for a good stable computer to surf, do email and word processing and the such, a Mac Mini is great. Mac Minis are not as upgradeable as as Mac Pro, but you will get a lot of bang for your buck.

Mac Mini = good computer. Mac OS X = best OS on market. If you are new to Macs, you will be amazed. Mac Mini is good enough to get going on basics. Web, apps, games, photos, etc. You will be off and running in 15 mins. out of the box.

Both the regular Macs and the Mac Mini are good computers.
They aren’t specced so low they are not usable, which can be the case with some PCs.

    The differences are:
    * The Mac Mini is smaller.
    * The Mac Mini is a little slower.
    * The Mac Mini does not come with a monitor. Nor does it come with a keyboard. So you will have to buy these two separately. I recommend buying the monitor from another supplier as Apple’s monitors – while excellent – are expensive.
    * The Mac Mini is a little harder to upgrade with more memory or bigger harddrives than the regular macs.

I think the Mac Mini is a good purchase. It’s cheap, and you really don’t need any more than the Mac Mini. It’s a good computer. Not the best for games, but good.
I’d say go for it! I sincerely doubt you’ll be anything but pleased.

Normal Macs are alot better. Don’t even consider the mac mini. You might as well get a PC with much better stats for the same price. If you want to experience the benefits of a Macintosh computer buy anything above a standard macbook. If you’re looking into a new computer and are looking into apple computers, I suggest you save up your money. Even the base macbook is good enough to do almost everything (except gaming). Again, don’t even lok into the mac mini, and good luck with your purchase =D

Normal Macs are mainly for running a lot more programs. Mac Minis are tiny and don’t come with a monitor, keyboard, or mouse. But if you can afford the mini, definitely get it. It’s not that Macs are better than other Macs, it’s that different Macs are made for different purposes. If you just use a computer to upload photos, browse the internet, chat on aol, etc. then you’ll be completely fine with the mini. But what ever you do, don’t get a PC with vista. If you really want to know a lot more specifics, make an appointment at your closest Apple store for a genius bar appointment (www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar) and when you go an employee will answer all your questions.

A Mac Mini is something you plug into your PC and use it like a mac, though it is VERY limited. The mac mini costs $ 599, and is pretty good. But then theres the mac os x, costs twice as much and is (from what i’ve heard) 5x better!! So keep savin’ up and buy a mac os x, not the mac mini. But it depends if you want to get it soon. If you wanna get it soon, buy the mac mini. If you can wait and this is in the back of your head, wait and buy the mac os x.

mac mini has less specs :)

but they are great because if you dont like the “STYLE’ or look of macs you can just buy a mini and hook what ever screen, keyboard and mouse to it!

So you could hook a Dell screen and a logitech mouse to it but on the screen its still a mac OS!

Yes most macs are better than the mini
the closest thing to mini specs are the old macbooks

but i think the mini is such a good buy for a good mac!
and now they come with leopard and ilife 08! and you can just upgrade the ram for $ 100 and walla!!!! you allready have the specs of a macbook!

    so buy it! its great

    cool hey!
plz rate me the best and ill give you heaps more help!

Mac mini is only the CPU instead of normal macs which come with a monitor. It is usually cheaper and 6×6 or so inches!
